A former Canadian who now calls Mexico her home, Michelle brings over a decade of mortgage experience to the area. She entered the business 13 years ago where she started out working in customer service, became an accredited mortgage agent and finished her time in Canada as a mortgage auditor.
Her depth of experience and strong financial background makes her a valuable asset to our customers wanting to buy in the Riviera Maya area. In Canada, she was licensed as a mortgage agent in 2002, was certified as a Personal Financial Planner in 2003 and became an Accredited Mortgage Professional in 2004.
After making a trip to Cancun 10 years ago, Michelle decided that she wanted to move to Mexico. Waiting until her daughter was grown and she became an empty nester, she was able to turn that dream into a reality. Her daughter still lives in Canada and her two stepchildren live in Australia.
With everyone out of the house, she and her husband, Bijan, along with their cat Ziggy got into the car, left Calgary and made the move to Mexico. They're not just visiting, they're homeowners here and plan to stay. Her home is in Chemuyil about 10 minutes north of Tulum and 30 minutes south of Playa del Carmen. Being a homeowner herself, Michelle, is keenly aware of the Mexican process of buying a home. In her words, it takes "patience, patience and more patience."
Helping to ease that process for others is one of her goals. When working with Michelle, people are always impressed with her integrity, loyalty, honesty and attention to detail.
When she's not working, Michelle enjoys a broad variety of leisure activities, i.e., yoga, making beaded jewelry, cooking, photography, music & dancing, traveling, meeting new people from all over the world, scuba diving and she even tried solo sky diving in 1993....as she says, "What a rush!"
